Students from TIP, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Jember, have made another proud achievement at the national level.
The team — Muhammad Misbakhul Ulul Azmi, Mochamad Raihan Sabila Risqi, and Refaldoleo Muliasyah Sugianto Putra — successfully won 3rd Place in the Silver Essay Competition organized by the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Their essay, titled “BIOBAG: Innovation of Biodegradable Sacks from Banana Pseudostem Fiber and Cassava Peel Starch as an Eco-Friendly Material,” proposes the use of agricultural waste to develop biodegradable packaging that supports environmental sustainability and reduces plastic waste.
This outstanding achievement showcases the students’ creativity, innovation, and commitment to sustainable development.

TIP UNEJ Wins Best Paper at the 2025 National Seminar & Pre-Congress of PERTETA at UGM
Another proud achievement has been made by a student of the Agroindustrial Technology Program (TIP), University of Jember. At the National Seminar & Pre-Congress of PERTETA 2025, held at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on September 3, 2025, one of our students successfully earned the Best Paper Award.
The paper presented was titled “Integration of Lean Manufacturing and the CRAFT Algorithm to Improve the Efficiency of the Tempe Industry in Jember.” This research is an output of the Beginner Lecturer Research Grant funded by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), University of Jember.
The project was led by Shinta Syafrina Endah Hap Sari, S.T., M.P., and involved two students: Fira Faradilla (who presented the paper at the seminar) and Luvia Destari. This collaboration between lecturer and students demonstrates a strong synergy in advancing research in the agroindustrial field, particularly in improving the efficiency of the tempe industry in Jember.
This achievement proves that TIP UNEJ students are capable of contributing innovative research recognized at the national level. Moreover, it is expected to motivate other students to keep excelling in both academic and research endeavors.
This accomplishment is also in line with the vision of the TIP Program, University of Jember, namely “shaping future professionals who are innovative, adaptive, and capable of responding to the ever-evolving challenges of the agroindustrial sector.”
